Acceptance of These Terms

Welcome to the Board of Canine Behaviorists ("BCB," "the Board," "we," "our," or "us").

By accessing or using this website, submitting an application, purchasing a membership, registering for an examination, obtaining certification, or using any services provided by the Board, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, you should not use this website or participate in any Board programs.

1. Purpose of the Board

The Board of Canine Behaviorists exists to establish, administer, and promote professional standards within the field of canine behavior through certification, education, ethical practice, and professional development.

Nothing on this website shall be interpreted as creating a guarantee of certification, employment, professional recognition, or business success.

2. Professional Certification

Certification is awarded only after all Board requirements have been successfully completed.

Submission of an application does not guarantee:

•      Acceptance of an application

•      Approval to sit for an examination

•      Successful completion of an examination

•      Award of certification

•      Renewal of certification

•      Continued certification

The Board reserves the right to approve, deny, suspend, revoke, or decline certification in accordance with its published policies and procedures.

3. Application Fees

Application fees cover the administrative review of an applicant's eligibility for certification.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law:

•      Application fees are non-refundable.

•      Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.

•      If an application is approved, the application fee may be credited toward the certification fee where stated by the Board.

•      If an application is denied, the application fee will not be refunded.

4. Examination Fees

Examination fees cover the administration, assessment, and evaluation of the Board's certification examination.

Payment of an examination fee grants the candidate the opportunity to participate in the examination process.

Payment does not guarantee:

•      Successful completion of the examination

•      Passing scores

•      Award of certification

•      Future certification eligibility

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, examination fees are non-refundable.

5. Certification Fees

Certification fees cover the issuance of professional credentials, certification records, certificates, digital credentials, and related administrative services.

Certification fees are non-refundable once certification has been awarded.

6. Membership Fees

Membership fees support the administration of Board membership programs and member benefits.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law:

•      Membership fees are non-refundable.

•      Membership benefits may change over time.

•      Discounts, promotions, and partner offers may vary by country, region, or availability.

7. Refund Policy

Except where prohibited by applicable law:

•      Application fees are non-refundable.

•      Examination fees are non-refundable.

•      Certification fees are non-refundable once certification has been awarded.

•      Membership fees are non-refundable.

Refund requests based upon examination results, certification decisions, changes in Board policies, or changes to Board materials will not be granted.

8. Board Materials and Credential Designs

The Board continually improves its publications, branding, security features, and credentialing materials.

Accordingly, the Board reserves the right to update, redesign, replace, modify, or discontinue at any time:

•      Printed certificates

•      Digital certificates

•      Certification seals

•      Digital badges

•      Membership cards

•      Logos

•      Branding

•      Candidate materials

•      Educational resources

•      Publications

Images displayed on this website are representative examples only.

Certificates, badges, seals, and other credentialing materials issued to successful candidates may differ from examples displayed on the website.

Differences in:

•      Design

•      Colour

•      Layout

•      Wording

•      Signatures

•      Security features

•      Digital appearance

•      Printing methods

•      Materials

•      Logos

•      Board branding

do not affect the validity of a credential and do not constitute grounds for cancellation, replacement, refund, compensation, or dispute.

9. Candidate Responsibilities

Applicants and candidates agree to:

•      Provide accurate information.

•      Submit truthful documentation.

•      Maintain the confidentiality of examination materials.

•      Complete all required Board requirements honestly.

•      Comply with all published Board policies.

Providing false information or fraudulent documentation may result in:

•      Application denial

•      Examination failure

•      Permanent disqualification

•      Revocation of certification

10. Professional Conduct

Certified professionals agree to comply with the Board's published Code of Ethics.

Failure to maintain professional standards may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or revocation of certification.

11. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property associated with the Board remains the exclusive property of the Board of Canine Behaviorists.

This includes:

•      BCB name

•      Certification titles

•      Logos

•      Certification seals

•      Digital badges

•      Website content

•      Publications

•      Examination materials

•      Candidate handbooks

•      Educational resources

•      Graphics

•      Images

No material may be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, or used without prior written permission.

12. Certification Marks

Only individuals holding an active certification in good standing may use Board certification titles or represent themselves as Board Certified.

Improper use of Board credentials, certification marks, logos, or titles may result in disciplinary action and legal remedies where appropriate.

13. Website Use

Users agree not to:

•      Attempt unauthorized access to Board systems.

•      Interfere with website functionality.

•      Upload malicious software.

•      Misrepresent professional qualifications.

•      Use Board trademarks without authorization.

•      Submit false information.

The Board reserves the right to suspend access where misuse is suspected.

14. Third-Party Services

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which the Board of Canine Behaviorists is legally established, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
